He directs the ensemble <a title=\"Concerto Caledonia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.concal.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Concerto Caledonia<\/a>\u00a0and as a keyboard player specialising in historical instruments, collaborates with musicians working in early and traditional music, and occasionally produces music for television drama.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co-Investigator<\/strong><br \/>\n<a title=\"Prof. John Butt - University of Glasgow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gla.ac.uk\/schools\/cca\/staff\/johnbutt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Butt<\/a> has been Gardiner Professor of Music at the University of Glasgow since 2001 and pursues a dual career as performer and scholar. His published work is mainly on 17th and 18th century music, performance practice and issues of modernity and music, and he also works as a conductor and organist\/harpsichordist, particularly as musical director of the <a title=\"The Dunedin Consort\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dunedin-consort.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dunedin Consort<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co-Investigator<br \/>\n<\/strong><a title=\"Prof. Susan Rankin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mus.cam.ac.uk\/people\/academicstaff\/skr1000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Susan Rankin<\/a>\u00a0is Professor of Medieval Music at the University of Cambridge. She works mainly on music of the early middle ages, both monophonic and polyphonic, and is especially concerned with the status of notations in relation to musical practice, and with procedures for making music where notations reflect rather than determine practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Researcher<br \/>\n<\/strong><a title=\"Dr Karen McAulay - royal Conservatoire of Scotland\" href=\"http:\/\/rcs.ac.uk\/aboutus\/libraryandit\/libstaff.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Karen McAulay<\/a> is Music and Academic Services Librarian at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. She gained her PhD in Music from the University of Glasgow in 2009, on Scottish song collecting c.1760-1888, and has a book, <a title=\"Our Ancient National Airs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ashgate.com\/default.aspx?page=637&amp;calcTitle=1&amp;title_id=12034&amp;edition_id=12411\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Our Ancient National Airs: Scottish Song Collecting from the Enlightenment to the Romantic Era<\/a>, was published by Ashgate in 2013. She is a church organist and choir director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PhD Student<br \/>\n<\/strong><a title=\"Barnaby Brown\" href=\"http:\/\/barnabybrown.info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barnaby Brown<\/a>\u00a0has been investigating pibroch as a performer since 1995. He began reviving the northern triplepipe in 2003 and works in a variety of intercultural, traditional and early music ensembles as a composer-performer. His publications concern Scotland&#8217;s harp and piping traditions and he lectured at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for six years before moving to Cambridge to begin full-time PhD research in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Systems Developer<\/strong> (December 2014-June 2015) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-361 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/bassculture.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/picture-201x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"110\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bassculture.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/picture-201x300.jpg 201w, https:\/\/bassculture.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/picture.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 110px) 100vw, 110px\" \/><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gla.ac.uk\/stafflist\/?webapp=staffcontact&amp;action=person&amp;id=4cddebe68492\">Luca Guariento<\/a> was awarded BA and MA in Musicology at the University of Bologna, Italy, his masters dissertation focusing on Robert Fludd\u2019s <em>De templo music\u00e6<\/em> (1618). He continued to widen the horizons of his research on Fludd\u2019s philosophy with a PhD at the University of Glasgow. He is Research Systems Developer for the College of Arts at the University of Glasgow.
